The Air cooled Reflector are built to be as long and wide as possible. Not only does this allow maximum light spread , but it also ensures maximum air flow and heat dispersion. This makes the Air Cooled Reflector ideal for exhausting the surplus heat generated by high pressure, high powered grow lamps, ultimately letting you put the lamp closer to the plants for increased light intensity (however please make sure you also have even light distribution at the optimum intensity - try to aim for 800-950 micromoles/s). Up to 80% excess heat can be continuously removed in conjunction with an exhaust fan and duct piping. Random start technology is handy when multiple ballast are being used at the same time, the Hyperlux ballast senses this and each individual ballast will start within a 15 second window, which will lower the amperage draw when the lighting cycle is starting.
